Cloud Engineer Cloud Competence Center

Primary Objective:

At Raiffeisen Bank, cloud computing continues to allow us to modernize and consolidate IT infrastructure, automate workloads, and pursue next-generation innovation. To continue this transformation, we’re seeking an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud engineer with expertise in the strategy, design, development, and implementation of large-scale projects in the cloud.

The ideal candidate is experienced in cloud-based tech, with a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications, and ability to customize them to help our business become more secure and efficient. Extensive knowledge of cloud maintenance, experience managing staff, and advanced industry knowledge is key to keeping us on the cutting edge. From day one, you’ll have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of our IT operations, and an ongoing impact on our overall growth.

Main responsibilities: Plan, Configure, Deploy, Operate and Maintain RBRO’s AWS cloud services.

As a key member of the Cloud Competence Center team, the AWS Cloud Engineer primary focus areas are:

1. Contribute to the design, build and deploy of RBRO AWS Cloud resources
2. Infuse innovation into our daily cloud operations by introducing automation and control elements for an improved cost, IT operations of cloud resources and compliance with internal requirements (security, regulatory, compliance, data privacy etc).
3. A key member of the team responsible for the application migration program, on the AWS platform, ensuring that the AWS cloud solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud and provision all cloud resources according to target architecture diagram
4. The new colleagues will evangelize and educate internal customers on the value proposition of AWS as well as aid in creating world-class solutions built on AWS.

Other Responsibilities :

1. Work in tandem with our engineering and dev ops teams to identify and implement the optimal cloud-based solutions for the company
2. Test and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance
3. Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to development teams to build cloud competencies
4. Optimal management of the cloud infrastructure to ensure application resiliency and performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design
5. Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
6. Troubleshoot incidents, identify root cause, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures
7. Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required
8. Employ problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity
9. Configure access and security for cloud resources
10. Ensure Performance standards by configuring Auto-Scaling Solution to meet varying Load requirements.
11. Deliver Proof of Concepts for new Solutions on Cloud
12. Good written/,l Communication, Presentation, Interactive skills with team across geography.
13. Works well under pressure and meets deadline.
14. Flexible to work either independently or with team.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or mathematics
2. Experience in architecting, designing, migrating, and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms
3. Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a well-architected framework
4. Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics
5. Proven ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject matter experts

Recommended qualification and skills:

1. Hands-on AWS implementation experience across a broad range of AWS services.
2. Must have in depth AWS development experience (Containerization - Docker, Amazon EKS, Lambda, EC2, S3, Amazon DocumentDB, PostgreSQL)
3. Strong knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD pipeline (GitHub, Terraform)
4. Scripting capability and the ability to develop AWS environments as code
5. Hands-on AWS experience with at least 3 implementations (preferred in an Enterprise scale environment)
6. Experience with core AWS platform architecture, including areas such as: Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies.
7. Backup and Disaster Recovery approach and design
8. Environment and application automation
9. CloudFormation and third-party automation approach/strategy
10. Network connectivity, Direct Connect and VPN
11. AWS Cost Management and Optimization
12. Experienced in developing Web Services with Python, JSON
13. Skilled experience in Python libraries (NumPy, Pandas dataframe)
14. Public cloud automaton tooling and scripting experience – CFn, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Jenkins.
15. Familiar with Encryption, Logging, and Privacy/Security Protocols (e.g. TLS 1.2, ELK stack)
16. Good knowledge of REST/SOAP/JSON web service API implementation.
17. Experienced in developing test plan, test cases, baselines, and conducting end-to-end testing.
18. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers
19. Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly
