Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Full Stack Developer to join our Engineering Team within Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP), Corporate Technology (CT). As a mid to senior-level developer, you will play a key role in building and enhancing our developer portal using Backstage.io, leveraging your expertise in ReactJS for frontend development and NodeJS for backend development.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using ReactJS and NodeJS.
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UI/UX designers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and maintainability.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Write unit tests, integration tests, and perform debugging to ensure application reliability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them as appropriate.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4-6 years of professional experience in full-stack development.
- Proficiency in frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS.
- Proficiency in backend development with NodeJS.
- Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab CI).
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize code.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with TypeScript is highly recommended
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript with a willingness to learn and work with TypeScript
- Experience with additional server-side languages
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
- Understanding of performance testing and optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Docker).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools (Terraform).
- Experience with Backstage.io.
- Understanding of UX design principles and familiarity with design tools like Figma.
- Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers.
- Knowledge of security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and optimization.
