Our customer is the healthcare IT security company, which provides healthcare organizations globally with a security and identity platform that delivers authentication management, fast access to patient information, secure communications, and positive patient identification. The company enables care providers to securely and efficiently access, communicate, and transact patient health information to address critical compliance and security challenges while improving productivity and the patient experience. We have worked together for about 18 years.
Within this engagement, you join platform software development team focused on the Linux operating system for client’s current and future appliances. The platform team is responsible for the architecture, design, and development of the virtual appliances deployed on-premises and in the Azure cloud.
IF YOU ARE
- A holder of a bachelor’s in computer science or related degree
- An experienced DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of development in a Linux environment
- Proficient in Linux operating system including kernel, Filesystem Hierarchy Standard, operating system configuration, repositories, and rpm packaging
- Skilled in Perl, shell scripting, PHP, Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and the Linux operating system
- Aware of networking principles (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, etc.) and network troubleshooting
- Knowledgeable in Linux security principles and utilities (TLS, ACLs, AppArmor, etc.)
- Familiar with database principles
- Professional in cloud environments Azure and AWS
- Strong in designing solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with high expectations
- Unrivalled in full software development life cycle and successful bringing products to market
- Excellent in written and verbal interaction with both internal teams and external customers and partners
- Accustomed to working in an Agile Scrum environment (as a plus)
- Versed in VMWare and hypervisors (nice to have)
- Aware of the SUSE Linux operating system distribution (optional)
AND YOU WANT TO
- Design and deliver the operating system and the software responsible for setup, configuration, and integration for the virtual appliance
- Develop and debug software in a multi-threaded environment
- Develop operating system application functionality within a dynamic agile scrum environment
- Create high-quality code testable through automation
- Run unit and functional automated tests
- Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues
- Configure and maintain the Linux operating system in the appliance
- Develop software for the setup, configuration, and management of multi-appliance enterprises including networking
