Job description

Connections is looking for a Senior Technical & Pre-Sales Consultant with architecture expertise to support our growing Team. The Senior Technical & Pre-Sales Consultant will deliver technical consultancy and pre-sales activities, and transfer industry technical and product knowledge to customers via good written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Working with the Sales & Contract Management Team, your responsibilities will include the development of formal written sales proposals and tender responses and the ability to present and differentiate product offerings at a technical level from the competition.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Delivering presentations and demonstrations to prospective and current clients;
  • liaising with those developing products/services to gain in-depth knowledge that you can relate to customers, and to inform them of user behavior or potential changes clients would like;
  • Helping the sales team to reach targets;
  • Conducting research into the industry, including competitor research;
  • Considering new markets or clients to contact based on your knowledge of both the products/services and their users;
  • Pre-sales technical support, generation of RFI/RFP responses;
  • Technical consulting and requirements capture;
  • Technical presentations, product demonstrations, system POCs, and support for tradeshows;
  • Configuration and programming of the products/system;
  • Assisting in the After-Sales support process;
  • Collaboration with the Sales and Marketing department: working closely with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for engaging with potential customers effectively, providing input on marketing materials, participating in sales meetings, and collaborating on pricing and proposal development;
  • Solution architecture design: collaborating with solution architects or technical teams to design the architecture of the proposed solution, providing input on architecture, scalability, performance, integration points, and other technical aspects to ensure the solution meets the customer's requirements;
  • Helping quantify potential cost savings, revenue increase, or efficiency gains that the customer can expect from adopting the software;
  • Reviewing and approving technical designs to ensure they meet client requirements and internal standards;
  • Creating and maintaining detailed architectural documentation.

 

Skills and qualities required:

  • Relevant experience in the public sector;
  • Interest in and understanding of the industry, often a technology-related one;
  • Ability to research and keep on top of industry developments;
  • Ability to explain and present technical solutions;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Communication and presentation skills;
  • Influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Aptitude for time management and organization;
  • Problem-solving ability;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent relationship-building skills;
  • Affinity to both sales and technology functions;
  • Solid experience in technical solution architecture;
  • Advanced knowledge of modern technologies and the ability to evaluate and select appropriate technologies for different projects;
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, AWS Solution Architect) or related certifications are a plus.
