Job description

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience;
  • Bachelor or Master Degree in the IT or relevant domain or relevant certifications;
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience related to the profile;
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft and Linux systems administration, preferably in distributed and complex environments;
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft and VMware virtual infrastructures;
  • Has experience in analyzing complex IT environments and in designing, testing, and documenting architectural changes;
  • Solid scripting skills;
  • Solid Linux Systems Administration skills.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience in working with open source monitoring systems
  • Hands-on experience in working with Cisco networking
  • Hands-on experience in integration of systems

Description of Tasks:

Task 1: IT Systems Administration

This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Maintaining, monitoring, and support the existing virtual infrastructure;
  • Monitoring security on servers;
  • Production and maintenance of documentation for daily operations, e.g. standard operational procedures, checklists, workflows, and diagrams;
  • Reviewing of logs on servers on a daily basis;
  • Identifying issues and risks related to the systems infrastructure and proposing remedial actions;
  • Reporting on activities performed under this task.

Task 2: Acting as the 2nd Line of Support

The aim of this task is to act as the 2nd line of support in the area of Systems Administration and related systems.

This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Handling incidents and service requests escalated by the 1st line of support;
  • Troubleshooting and solving of any reported incidents and problems;
  • Updating the status of the open requests in the ticketing system in a timely manner;
  • Reporting on activities performed under this task

Task 3: Preparing and performing changes on the internal infrastructure and related systems

This task includes the following activities (non-exhaustive list):

  • Proposing potential changes in order to improve the internal systems infrastructure and related systems;
  • Planning, testing, and performing on the internal infrastructure and related systems tasks related to changes like installing;
  • Configuring, tuning, patching, upgrading both hardware and software;
  • Updating the related documentation and procedures;
  • Improve the implementation.
