Role Description:

Reporting to the Head of Strategy Change and Execution, we are seeking a Technical Delivery Director with experience in Market Data  to join the mobilization of a new Multi Millon Dollar Programme to modernise and futureproof or Real Time Data and Analytics Platform (FTRP) with a focus on the Infrastructure and Cloud (I&C) pillar.  This pioneering programme with see us using new technology driven by a complex technical delivery team, rapid expansion of a newly established Data & Analytics Platform used for business-wide Engineering Infrastructure planning and strategy. The aim of this initiative is to drive growth of the platform through development of new features which meet stakeholder and customer requirements – the Ideal Candidate is encouraged to contribute significantly to the associated technology strategy and delivery of a key strategic transformational initiative for the Data and Analytics, Feeds and Real time market data business supported by core on prem and cloud based foundational technologies.     This role will see the successful candidate collaborating at the highest level across all Technology and engineering functions, partnership and leadership of third-party suppliers, lead critical path execution for Infrastructure and Cloud as part of a large programme of work.  Ensure costs and efficiencies are managed through implementing and maintaining strong governance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Delivery: Lead delivery across the Programme for I&C workstreams across Cloud, Networks and Platform Engineering and the end-to-end delivery chain as part of a wider Data and Analytics Engineering programme to support the Real Time Market Data business.
  • Planning: Facilitate cross-functional planning, working closely with stakeholders and partner programs to ensure inbound dependencies are factored into backlog prioritisation and roadmaps, while ensuring balanced sprint plans.
  • Requirements Gathering: Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to capture stakeholder requirements and translate them into actionable backlog items, while ensuring clarity and feasibility for development teams
  • Roadmap & Backlog Definition: coordinate the product backlog and roadmap, and steer prioritisation of user stories, features, and other work items according to stakeholder needs.
  • Stakeholder engagement: act as a conduit for the technical team and the Platform stakeholders, fostering collaboration and achieving consensus on key decisions
  • Lead Agile Ceremonies: facilitate ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring the development process stays on track.
  • Reporting: Create transparency and facilitate decisions and escalations through insightful and timeline reporting to partner programs and stakeholders, using data to advise on progress or improvement opportunities.
  • Implementing metrics and KPIs: work with the team in defining and meeting the right set of metrics to drive delivery productivity and output quality, including identifying opportunities to optimise for timeliness, efficiency and quality in the delivery cycle.
  • Risk, Issue & Dependency Management: proactively manage dependencies, risk and issues for the workstream, documenting assumptions, assessing likelihood and impact, planning mitigations and raising escalations as needed.
  • Governance: Align with portfolio and partner program governance processes and support the engineering team to design and implement governance for the delivery and operational processes
  • Foster continuous improvement and collaboration: Contribute to the collaboration and continuous improvement culture, including seeking to assess and improve processes, tools, and practices to enhance team performance and product quality.

Experience Profile & Key Skills

7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional strategic business projects as a Delivery Manager / Product Manager / Scrum Master with successful outcomes using agile and lean principles.

  • Proven Experience in Real Time Market Data Technology alongside a good understanding of market data technology and the underlying Infrastructure platforms.
  • Ideally knowledge of Docker Kubernetes / container based technology, plus network load balancing, DNS, regional routing etc.
  • Data literacy: The candidate must have strong data literacy and experience working with data, as evidenced by projects / delivery in data-aligned initiatives. While it is essential they are comfortable with data topics, principles and best practices, technical expertise in data analysis or modelling is not required.
  • Agile & Scrum: demonstrable experience using Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Product Management / Product Ownership:
    • Expertise in gathering and interpreting customer requirements, from experience fulfilling a Technical Business Analyst/Product Manager or a similar role.
    • Demonstrable experience working in roles aligned to product design & development, good familiarity with product methodology
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven record of establishing and maintaining trust with stakeholders of all levels through transparent communication, using mediation and problem-solving techniques to maintain positive relationships, and consistent delivery of project milestones.
  • Communication and influencing:
    • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to influence senior business customers with a high degree of professional maturity and resilience.
    • Strong negotiation skills in de-escalating interpersonal or inter-team conflicts.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for effective business change management and problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivated with strong attention to detail and follow through.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high level of initiative and a flexible approach; capable of handling competing demands, ambiguity, and changing priorities.
  • Essential Tooling knowledge: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and experience using planning and tracking tooling such as Asana or JIRA essential.
  • Experience working on Technology Infrastructure Change and / or Business Intelligence delivery programs is desirable
