Role Description:

This is a great opportunity for a junior hands-on DevOps Engineers or Infrastructure Cloud Engineers with proven experience in cloud computing platforms.  You will be tasked with transforming business requirements into robust cloud infrastructure solutions which forms the underlying foundation for all distributed systems and applications of LSEG.

As a Cloud Platform Engineer specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will participate in the implementation of our GCP-based cloud infrastructure. You will support and enhance our cloud environment, ensuring scalability, high availability, security, and cost-efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with various teams to drive cloud adoption and implement GCP standard methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and optimize GCP resources to ensure high availability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts using Terraform, with configuration management using YAML and JSON.
  • Implement GCP security best practices, including IAM policies, VPC design, NGFW policies.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab to automate deployment processes.
  • Continuously improve testing methodologies and practices to enhance the quality of Infrastructure as Code deployments.
  • Use Jira for task management to track progress and manage backlogs.
  • Use Confluence for documentation, team collaboration, and sharing project information.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:

  • One or 2 years of previous experience on a similar role would be helpful.
  • Good knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (Organizations, Policies, IAM, VPC, Serverless Solutions, GKE, Compute, Logging).
  • Good knowledge of IaC and related technologies such as Terraform, Packer, Vault.
  • Good knowledge of configuration management using YAML and JSON.
  • Previous experience in working with CICD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Good knowledge with implementing security standards inside the CI/CD pipelines (SonarQube, Semgrep etc.).
  • Some programming experience with any language (Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell etc.) would be a nice to have.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker).
  • Good knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Certifications:

  • GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or higher would be nice to have.
