Frontend Role
Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Front-End Developer to join our Engineering Team within Engineering Excellence & Productivity (EXP), Corporate Technology (CT). As a mid to senior-level developer, you will play a crucial role in building and enhancing our internal developer portal, focusing on delivering exceptional user experiences for our development community. You will utilize your expertise in ReactJS and TypeScript to create intuitive and engaging interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain user-facing features using ReactJS and TypeScript.
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and visually appealing interfaces.
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, including requirement analysis, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and provide constructive feedback.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
- Write unit tests and debug applications to ensure reliability and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies and industry trends.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 4-6 years of professional experience in front-end development.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ReactJS, and TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web standards.
- Experience integrating front-end interfaces with backend services via RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with UI/UX design principles and collaboration with design teams.
- Proficiency with design tools such as Figma.
- Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Enzyme).
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for web applications.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana).
- Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.
Nice to Have
- Experience with UX design and user research methodologies.
- Understanding of security principles and best practices.
- Experience with Backstage.io.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
