We are seeking a skilled Google Distributed Cloud Connected (GDC-C) Engineer to join our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE).
The successful candidate will provide managed infrastructure DevOps services, particularly Kubernetes as a Service (KaaS) to our customers, enabling them to build and deploy applications on a reliable and scalable edge infrastructure. Utilizing Google Distributed Cloud, the role includes managing software delivery pipelines, deploying and monitoring services, and managing and learning from incidents to support our client’s growth and bring innovative cloud solutions to the teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain working knowledge of Google Distributed Cloud
- Implement, configure, and support a distributed cloud network, including various Google Cloud services
- Design, manage and scale Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications on Google Distributed Cloud Connected
- Understand Google cloud design considerations and limitations and their impact on pricing
- Apply networking principles and protocols such as IP subnetting, routing, firewall rules, Virtual Private Cloud, Load Balancer, Cloud DNS, Cloud CDN, and Hybrid Networks
- Use container technology including Docker and Kubernetes, version control systems like GitHub, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo or Buildkite
- Utilize infrastructure configuration management tools like Terraform, Puppet, and Chef
- Collaborate with customers to tailor Kubernetes solutions based on application requirements
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of Kubernetes clusters and applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters and network connectivity
Requirements
- Previous experience on Google Distributed Cloud Connected or at least 3-5 years as a Google Cloud Network Engineer
- Experience in building networks to private, public, and hybrid cloud infrastructures
- Proficiency in a modern scripting language for automation of build tasks
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring using tools like Splunk or Dynatrace
- Experience with Big Data on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and Dataflow
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator endorsement
- Showcase engineering and coding skills in an agile environment
- Familiarity with automated deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code to support Continuous Delivery/Deployment
- Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) concepts
- Competency with Google Cloud native tooling
- In-depth knowledge of cloud-based delivery models
- Proven track record in coding, solution definition, project management/execution, change/risk management
- Experience from large, international companies and dealing with global service providers
