Role Profile:
Group Risk IT provides technology solutions for Group Risk, a centralised function which oversees all Clearing Services in LCH. It is composed of 3 sub teams - development, QA & Business Analysis. Our primary objective is to inspire confidence in market participants through providing efficient and effective clearing services and risk management. The ideal candidate will be diligent, tenacious and delivery focused with a track record of building high quality solutions that are resilient and maintainable.
Group Risk IT is responsible several risk management applications, the primary one being a data warehouse and reporting solution used by Group Risk. In addition to the data warehouse, there are microservices that expose the data in a user interface and perform calculations. The risk management application is used to analyse and report risk exposures, compute capital requirements (KCCP), manage Internal Credit Scores (ICS), and monitor risk against policies.
There are several tools that are used to perform core processes and activities such as JIRA, GitLab for pipelines and source control, Nexus repository, HashiCorp Vault, Terraform and Ansible, which altogether manage our deployments, package builds, security scanning and infrastructure builds.
Currently the application is hosted on-premises with a plan in the very near future to migrate the application to Snowflake and AWS infrastructure.
The role is for a Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer so will be responsible for the development and operational aspects of our AWS infrastructure, work with developers to ensure that applications are deployed and operated in the cloud environment. The role will also consist of improving the integration of the project functions and resources across the life cycle. However, we do encourage resources to broaden their skillsets and experiences, becoming more cross functional and thrive in the profession.
The successful candidate is expected to be a self-starter, adaptable, highly communicative, flexible, and able to manage own/assigned work.
Key responsibilities:
- Setting up tools and required infrastructure on Cloud.
- Defining and setting development, test, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operation
- Have the technical skill to review, verify, and validate the software code developed in the project.
- Troubleshooting techniques and fixing the code bugs
- Monitoring the processes during the entire lifecycle for its adherence and updating or creating new processes for improvement and minimizing the wastage
- Encouraging and building automated processes wherever possible
- Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously performing vulnerability assessment and risk management
- Coordination and communication within the team
- Selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
- Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
- Designing and implementing DevOps solutions on AWS
- Monitoring system performance and capacity utilization
Essential experience and skills:
- Experience working as a DevOps Cloud Engineer (or similar)
- Experience working with AWS Cloud
- Experience working in scrum methods (Agile)
- Experience working with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Terraform and Ansible
- Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
- Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps
- Experience working with Linux
Desired experience and skills:
- Experience working in scrum methods (Agile) and Agile principles.
- Experience working with Packer and Docker
