We are on the lookout for a reliable Lead Editor for our business partner, a publishing company that is part of an established group of companies that have thrived in the education and technology sectors across 3 countries for over 15 years.
Are you passionate about education and editorial work? Join the team as a Lead Editor! We're looking for a dynamic individual to lead our editorial team, manage new educational titles, and bring innovative ideas to the table.
This is a full-time role, based at their headquarters (Oradea) with the possibility of some travel as required.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and Manage the Editorial Team: Inspire, motivate, and guide a talented group of editors to create top-notch educational content. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Oversee Content and Technical Aspects of Publications: Ensure each publication meets high-quality standards in both content and technical execution. Provide guidance and feedback to maintain consistency and excellence.
- Plan and Execute the Editorial Plan: Develop and implement strategic editorial plans. Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure smooth workflow and project alignment.
- Ensure Quality and Timely Delivery of Publications: Monitor project timelines and deliverables to ensure publications are released on schedule. Address any challenges that arise to keep projects on track.
- Stay Updated with Educational Trends: Keep a keen eye on the latest trends and advancements in education. Incorporate new ideas and best practices to enhance the quality and relevance of our publications.
- Innovate and Improve: Continuously seek ways to innovate and improve the editorial process. Bring fresh ideas and creative solutions to elevate our educational materials.
- Evaluate and Develop Content: Assess the effectiveness of educational materials and implement improvements. Collaborate with the team to create engaging and impactful content from concept to market launch.
- Build Strong Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, contributors, and external partners. Foster a culture of open communication and teamwork.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Philology, Journalism, Letters, or a related field.
- At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role or exposure to positions dealing with text editing. You know the ins and outs of editorial work and can bring that expertise to the team
- Proven track record of leading and managing teams.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic editorial plans.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
