To re-implement and test existing StarMine Quant models in Python to provided specifications, and to build brand-new models working in collaboration with our Research teams. Build data pipelines to break down complex calculations into manageable stages.
Key Responsibilities:
We engage with product owners, architects and other specialists to craft and build complex, world-class analytics models to address our customer needs.
Building and maintaining efficient, reusable, reliable and secure enterprise software, adhering to company standards.
We Demonstrate a consistent focus on quality, ensuring that our team delivers robust software through the creation and execution of automated unit + integration tests, and documentation.
Providing technical support to Operations or other development teams.
Help the team to develop and learn, conduct review work of peers and more junior developers, providing advice and guidance to benefit the team.
Through agile retrospectives and reviews, we will inspect and adapt, finding innovative ways to help our team work more effectively.
Through participation in refinement and planning sessions, we work with other team members to analyse development requirements, provide design options and complexity estimates, and agree how to deliver.
Actively participating in meetings, you will give timely status updates on your areas of responsibility.
Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
Strong practical knowledge and experience of one or more of the following: Python, Java, Kotlin.
multi threading, OOP;
Strong problem solving, algorithmic thinking and coding skills.
Able to create performant SQL queries and general database knowledge.
Experience in development of sophisticated distributed systems.
Positive demeanour about learning new skills and technologies.
Dedicated, goal-oriented teammate with good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in highly agile, Sprint-based team environment.
Desired Skills:
Building and deploying Cloud applications.
Web API development.
Working with financial data.
Linux/Unix Experience.
Containerised development.
Analytics libraries like Pandas, PySpark, DuckDB etc.
Basic knowledge of working with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
Proficient with Git.
Proficient with CI/CD automation using GitLab or similar.
Education/ Certifications:
A relevant degree is desirable, but experience and the right approach to work are just as important.
AWS/Azure certification a nice to have.
