The Regional Category Manager Transportation & Warehousing is responsible for the regional Strategic Sourcing in the area of above mentioned Services.
The Regional Category approach creates a mutual added Value for all internal Customers in terms of commercial, logistical, and processual Enhancements by providing Expertise and Best Practices around the needs of the internal Customers as well as strengthening the relationship to strategic Business Partners (internally and externally).
- Lead all related purchasing activities, together with the Global Category Head, in the respective region related to:
- - Transportation – FTL, LTL, premium, courier
- - Warehousing – plant warehousing, distribution center etc.
- Drive negotiations considering best commercial and operational aspects and ensure compliance with valid rules
- Identify synergy potential where and whenever possible
- Ensure full coverage of all business requirements in the received offers
- Drive contractual coverage
- Act as point of escalation for operational topics
- Support operational improvements by negotiating commercial benefits
- Develop, improve and maintain rate cards standards
- Ensure proper upload of rate tables in SAP S4 HANA TM module where rolled out and demanded by the business
- Keep alignment between purchasing and internal customer strategy
- Oversee GBS managed tenders to ensure compliance if needed
- Identify together with internal customer sustainable transport options.
- Academic degree in business administration, engineering, or comparable qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Purchasing of large companies with international. background, preferably in technical purchasing (NPM area) with verifiable success.
- Experience in project management.
- Able to deal with contradicting targets.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools as well as in SAP R/3 and World Class Sourcing Platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English are essential.
- Further languages beneficial (e. g. German, Spanish, Chinese).
- Affinity for cooperation with people and intercultural competences.
- Strong negotiating skills, persuasion, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, driving execution.
