Role Description:
We are looking for a Data Engineer/Software Engineer to join our team. The hire will be responsible for maintain an integration of ServiceNow and Aggregate Data Layer, optimizing our data and data pipeline, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for multi-functional teams.
The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and not afraid of revert engineering current implementation. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline
- Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Develop the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using Node.JS, Elasticsearch and Pentaho technologies.
- Work with various partners including the Executive, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
- Maintain and improve the performance of existing application(s)
- Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
- Test and maintain application(s) to ensure strong functionality and optimization
- Recommend improvements to existing application(s) as necessary
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
- Optimizing RESTful requests for performance.
- Advanced knowledge of Full-stack JavaScript web development, such as NodeJS, AngularJS and clear understanding of object-oriented programming, functional programming and RESTful architecture.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Elasticsearch.
- Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Pentaho
- Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Shell script and Linux environment.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Excellent communication skills
