Role Description:
The role is within the Core DevOps Engineering team which sits within the CM Shared Technology Division. We strive for our engineers to work within small, agile, self-managed teams that emphasise best practice and believe quality is everyone’s responsibility. They bring an enthusiastic “you build it you run it” mindset whilst making sure they share their knowledge while removing constraints.
However, this role is an exciting opportunity to work transversally with all product teams within Capital Markets. The Core DevOps Engineering team is responsible for building technology patterns & standards, low level designs, creating reusable deployment code, shape the tooling ecosystem and ultimately enable teams to deliver faster and more efficiently. This role requires experience as a DevOps engineer in a cloud landscape (ideally AWS, Azure).
Tech Profile
CI/CD practices, AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins/GitLab, Scripting languages (Shell / Python / PowerShell).
We are looking for someone who:
- has experience building CI/CD pipelines and can define patterns and best practices
- has experience in deploying applications and systems to the public cloud
- understands and can implement Infrastructure as Code patterns and practices
- has understanding and experience in automating infrastructure provisioning and application deployment
- has an open and collaborative attitude and isn’t afraid to actively promote knowledge sharing
- is able to troubleshoot and problem solve across cloud infrastructure
- actively suggests architecture improvements, recommending process improvements
- enjoys evaluating new technology options and vendor products
- advocates and evangelises best practice engineering
- has familiarity with security and operational standard methodologies
- communicates with clarity, precision, and influence, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate
Key Skills:
- 3+ years of experience in enterprise DevOps and/or software engineering
- experience in developing CI/CD pipelines (preferably using shared libraries) using Jenkins/GitLab
- Experience with AWS/Azure compute, storage, networking services
- Experience with scripting languages (Shell / Python / PowerShell)
- Experience with provisioning and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer
- Experience with operating containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
