Role Description:
- In this role, you'll be joining our Azure Engineering team within Cloud Productivity & Engineering (CPE) as a Senior Azure Engineer. This team focuses on building, developing, and supporting our Azure cloud platform to accelerate the time-to-market of innovative finance products. In collaboration with Microsoft, we aim to transform how LSEG maximises the cloud platform.
- Engage in designing, developing, and building complex cloud services and capabilities.
- Work alongside architects, developers, and other engineers to ensure efficient Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zone platforms.
- Active involvement in decision making areas such as networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery and governance.
Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
Mandatory:
- 5 years’ experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud and hybrid Azure Platform solutions.
- Can demonstrate deep knowledge in setting up Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and hands on experience with Microsoft’s Cloud Adoption Framework.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud native components.
- 5 years’ demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in agile methodologies and CI/CD principles and practices.
- Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaS) using tools like Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Gitlab.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, team members, and management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- 8 years’ hands on experience with Windows/Linux Servers.
- Proactive incident management with Azure-based troubleshooting.
- Sound understanding of financial markets.
- Adept at collaborating in diverse teams, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Previous roles involving Azure administration, Azure development, and/or DevOps processes.
Education and Professional Skills:
- Relevant Professional qualifications.
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM degree.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and optimize hybrid Azure Platform solutions, focusing on compute, network, storage, monitoring, and security.
- Collaborate with Azure Platform engineers, architects, and other partners in the implementation of an Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zone platform.
- Provide expertise in IT operations areas, such as networking, virtualization, identity, security, and governance, ensuring these areas align with the overall Azure Platform strategy.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, encouraging standard methodologies in Azure administration, development, and DevOps processes.
- Participate in Project related activities to meet operational needs.
- To ensure knowledge articles of all supported systems are continually updated.
- To provide a high level of customer service, whilst working under pressure.
- To follow and adhere to established Incident Management, Change Management and Problem Management procedures.
