Role Description:
Quality Automation Engineer – IPPS Operations Tooling will be a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), responsible for the solution design and delivery of building new quality automation tools and tests in support the governance and management of Indices, operational and audit requirements.
The remit for this role is a part of the wider programme to build solutions to fit in target state index platform and achieving strategic objectives of LSEG Index business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements analysis, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation and execution of all required testing
- Write automated test cases that are robust, repeatable, well catalogued by feature (to orchestrate future smoke/regression runs)
- Prioritises test automation through appropriate tools and scripting
- Work with dev team to integrate test automation into build/deploy process
- Input to Outcome/Story/Task refinement, test case ideas and guidance.
- Capture relevant labels and links to ensure full traceability of outcome -> story -> test cases -> bugs for reporting purposes
- Ensure testing validates story acceptance criteria / meet DoD with maximum scenario coverage
- Follow processes, engineer quality into our software products. Input and feedback to lead/manager around areas for improvement.
- Ensures high quality product through the validation and verification testing of functional and non-functional requirements
- Communicates with clarity, precision, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate Maintenance and support of the existing quality automation tools and frameworks
Required Skills:
Mandatory:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery
- Proven experience of leading the design and delivery of quality automation software
- Experience on various testing techniques
- Hands-on experience on functional and non-functional testing
- Knowledge of quality standards and regulations
- Experience in working on data management and data focussed projects
- Substantial experience in the use of 3GL’s (e.g., C++, JAVA, Python), strongly structured background and sound understanding of OO
- Understand DB’s, SQL, etc – general backend tech
- AWS/Ansible/Jenkins/Git/API
- Experience in AWS
- Must be able to display/talk and have lived with why strong coding standards are important
- Able to engage easily with the Core Automation Team, make changes to the framework with consent (of team).
- Able to conceptuality describe the difference between an OO and functional language/approach.
- ISTQB Foundation Level Certification

- Desirable to have experience in financial services with an understanding of financial and related market data
