UniCredit is seeking a skilled Technical Analyst to join the Daily Banking TA & PMT Team within the Group Technology Office. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining COBOL/IMS/DB2 and third party products applications to support daily banking operations. - Lead the analysis and interpretation of business requirements, translating them into robust technical specifications for mainframe systems.
- Drive the development, testing, and deployment of new functionalities and enhancements on existing mainframe platforms.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level analysts, fostering best practices in mainframe development.
- Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of applications.
- Oversee system performance monitoring, proactively identifying and implementing optimizations to improve efficiency and stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and performance issues in production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Support maintenance activities such as second level support and cartographic update of applications in charge
- Adhere to UniCredit's policies and procedures, including security guidelines and coding standards, to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Act as Application Expert for core banking applications running on Mainframe systems, ensuring deep technical knowledge of assigned applications.
- Estimate effort for development activities.
- At least 7+ years of experience in IT with a strong focus on mainframe technologies.
- Extensive expertise in COBOL, DB2, JCL, CICS.
- Proven experience in z/OS environments and advanced mainframe debugging and monitoring tools.
- Ability to design, analyze, and optimize complex legacy systems.
- Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall, and application lifecycle management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously on complex tasks.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate cross-functional teams and influence key stakeholders.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken and good knowledge of the Italian languages.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe automation tools (e.g., REXX, CLIST).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines in mainframe environments.
- Knowledge of SOA architectures and API integration strategies on mainframe.
- Experience with versioning and change management tools (e.g., Endevor, Serena).
