We are looking for a Senior Technical Engineer with expertise in FreeBSD, UNIX-based networking, and security to join our team. You’ll be responsible for designing, optimizing, and securing high-availability gateway appliances in complex environments.
What you’ll do:
✅ Design & develop high-performance IT architectures for networking, storage, and cloud solutions
✅ Optimize and secure FreeBSD-based enterprise solutions for large-scale deployments
✅ Develop and implement high-availability, ultra-secure Application Layer Gateways
✅ Work with high-speed Ethernet (100Gb/s) and NVIDIA/Mellanox ConnectX-6 / Bluefield NICs
✅ Automate and provision complex environments using FreeBSD tools and scripting (Python, Shell, Perl, C/C++)
✅ Collaborate with international experts in FreeBSD, security, and network engineering
✅ Ensure compliance with security standards (ISO 2700x, BSI, NIST)
Requirements
What you bring:
✔ 10+ years of hands-on experience in UNIX/BSD networking, security, and infrastructure
✔ Strong FreeBSD expertise (Ports, Package Management, Poudriere, pfSense, ipfw, ALTQ)
✔ Deep networking knowledge (firewalls, VLANs, network virtualization, high-performance routing)
✔ Experience with security and high-availability architectures in enterprise/government settings
✔ Proficiency in scripting & automation (Python, Perl, Shell, C, C++)
✔ Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and audit management tools (Git, SVN, ClearCase, etc.)
✔ Good English or German skills (business fluent)
Nice to have
- Experience with Bhyve, VNET Jails, containerization
- Background in audit & compliance (ISO, BSI, NIST security standards)
- Familiarity with AI-driven networking & security optimization
