Role Description:

As a Service Reliability Architect, you will play a crucial role in LSEG’s Network Products and Services function by managing technical services using agile methodologies. We are responsible for global operations and reliability engineering, focusing on identifying opportunities and improvements to enhance our network services. The Service Reliability Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business, technology, and partners, and will be responsible for Incident Management, Security and Compliance, and Strategic Planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to your team (FLS, SLS, SME & SRE), promoting a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Work alongside a scrum master, supporting agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Monitor and track team progress, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality service improvements and removing any obstacles that may hinder progress.

Service Ownership: Act as a ‘service owner’ for your team, defining and prioritizing the backlog to align with business goals and customer needs. Collaborate with partners to gather requirements and translate them into user stories and acceptance criteria. Adopt a data-driven approach to decision-making and performance improvement tasks. Responsible for service analysis (Incident, Problem, and Change).

Service Recovery: Restore the functionality and availability of network services disrupted by outages, failures, cyberattacks, or other incidents. Identify the root cause of issues, implement measures to mitigate impact, and recover services to normal operation to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business leaders, product managers, and other functional teams to understand their needs and expectations. Clearly convey team performance, risks, and dependencies to partners, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Service Support: Be accountable for their products and services, ensuring Ops & SRE teams provide first class support for the infrastructure, observability, automation and pipelines.

Automation: Develop and maintain automated tools and systems to manage and monitor network products and services, reducing manual and repetitive tasks (toil) and human error.

Observability: Identify automation opportunities, provide oversight to improve monitoring capabilities, and enhance procedures to advance observability practices. Contribute to the strategic direction of NPS next generation tooling, driving outcomes. Act as a stakeholder for Observability & Monitoring improvements.

Lifecycle Management: Lead a team responsible for release management into the production environment, overseeing testing, monitoring, and Operational acceptance through a product release. Responsible for service lifecycle (hygiene) and improvement roadmap.

Service Management: Work closely with the Service Manager, Product Owner/Manager, and other stakeholders to define appropriate SLIs & SLOs and ensure they are met.  Bring data to life through dashboards, share service status.

Vendor Management: Work seamlessly with our partners, technology vendors and service providers to deliver outstanding services, results and experiences to NPS and the broader LSEG business. 

Risk Management: Identifying, assess and control threats to NPS products and services.

Candidate profile:

  • Experience with Global Network Operations, including real-time Market data
  • Experience with product ways of working (product aligned, service focused)
  • Experience with network automation, SRE and DevOps
  • Experience working in an Agile team, using Scrum & Kanban
  • Experience with agile project management tools, including JIRA
  • Experience with budget planning and forecasting
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire
